Passionated
by traditional music and travel, we carried out a mountain bike trip
of twelve months from october 2002 to october 2003. We were going around
the world in search of encounters, tokens and messages of hope.
A trip
based on statements as we made a documentary film concerning all the
different cultures we met. All along this trip, we recorded our feelings,
thoughts and impressions in travel diaries (published in french only)
and we kept up a correspondence with two groups of young people from
the school of Cornimont and La Bresse. After our return, some ateliers
based on world music discovery (open to all) were be organised and some
conferences based upon the documentary film realized.
Here is
the list of countries we have been travelling through:
France, Tunisia, Egypt, India, Nepal, Thaïland, Cambodia, Vietnam,
China, Mongolia and Russia.

“Music
is a volatile staff. […]. Traditional music, orally transmitted
from generation to generation, is the first victim of this property.
Saving this volatile patrimony by travelling the world, that is the
objective”.
Patrick Kersale, Ethnomusicologist.
